Picture Post

Craig was so sweet, and got me a really wonderful computer for Christmas. Problem is, I am very comfortable with a PC, and he got me a Mac. I know that Mac users love Macs, but it has been like learning a new language for me. I haven't gotten comfortable with it yet. It's actually pretty frustrating, and I feel very very stubborn about just NOT wanting to learn new things, get rid of this, and get back to a good ole PC. We will see what happens. But, for now, I finally figured out how to do certain things with photos, so I can finally upload some.

side note: It's 12:40pm, and I am still in my jammies, and my living room looks like a laundry and toy tornado. But, my windows are open, and I have a plan of having a more productive afternoon than morning. AFTER this blog post.

CHRISTMAS! (a little late, but better than never!)

Opening Nana and Grandpa's gifts.

Family Christmas Morning. Annabelle was really cute trying to open presents, and we learned that the gifts in bags were her favorite. She loved this tiny red book she got, and was disinterested in toys and baby dolls when she had her book.

Annabelle's Hair BEFORE her cut. I don't have a great one of it after, but look how long. I kinda miss it.

Just some cuteness:

(i really try not to let her stand that close to the TV, but i thought this was cute. Plus, she is watching my favorite Disney movie!)

One of my favorite things about today is that it is the last day of January. In my opinion, it's the worst month of the year. And February is one of my most favorite! I'm not trying to be too pessimistic here, but I have a good feeling February won't be my favorite this year. :( Hubby is out of town a lot this month, and that makes us sad. So, I will really try try try to keep myself very busy, and work on projects I have wanted to get done for a long time. To ACTUALLY DO some of the cute Pinterest ideas I have seen! Also, I will hopefully be posting some belly pics soon. Have a great week!

12 weeks. 4 days.

How far along? 12 weeks 4 days (close to second trimester!)
Total weight gain: not really sure. I think around 4 lbs. Feels like WAY more.
Maternity clothes? not yet. getting close. Jeans are so so uncomfortable and tight, which is why my weight gain FEELS like way more!
Stretch marks? no
Sleep: i love sleep. i want more of it. that's all.
Best moment this week: Finding out that Annabelle's heart is healthy!
Miss Anything? My husband SO much! (He is out of town)
Movement: I SERIOUSLY think I have been feeling movement!
Food cravings: Not really. Any food sounds good to me, except hamburgers.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Certain scents. Overeating, which seems to be happening more lately. wooops.
Gender: Can't even wait to find out.
Labor Signs: no
Symptoms: BIG(er) belly.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: mostly happy. This week has been long, and not my favorite for the most part, but mostly happy.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!

This past week, we had an appointment with Annabelle's cardiologist. She was due for an ECHO, just to check up. We left with GREAT news of a healthy heart. We are so thankful to God for healing her little heart, and allowing her to be a vibrant little girl. In further, but short detail, she was born with a hole in her heart, which actually happens more often than we thought. They assumed it would close on it's own. Which, we found out, it basically has. It is now the size of a pinhole. Her doctor was very happy with the news, too. :)

I read the sweetest thing on Kelle Hampton's blog this week. I took this little paragraph and had to share it....

"This morning she woke up early--early enough I had to check the clock to make sure it wasn't still the middle of the night. I heard the rattle of the crib railing and her happy whispers, and I finally reluctantly climbed out to welcome the day with her. I feel her low muscle tone most when I pull her from the crib. There is no resistance, no independent efforts to stand tall and pull her weight, and I love that. Every ounce of her sinks into my grasp as I lift her and pull her close, her bottom settling into my forearm, her hands touching my face, her chest fully dropping into my shoulder. I remember pregnancy yoga classes and how long it took the instructor to guide us into this kind of limber physical release. "Let go of your shoulders. Imagine your chest is dropping. Now release your leg muscles, your thighs, your calves...let go of it all. Submit to the peace in your inner soul," she'd exhort and even after all those steps, there was still a part I couldn't let go. After that experience I realize low muscle tone is hardly a disability. It's an enviable ability...to just be."

I totally know what she is talking about! Pulling Annabelle from her crib, especially after a nap when she is still a little sleepy. She really does just melt. I love it. It encouraged me SO much when she wrote: "low muscle tone is hardly a disability. It's an enviable ability...to just be." How I wish I could be that way sometimes. To just be. To REST. To fully depend on the One who holds my life, my family, my future in His hands.

I love my little Annabelle.

My sweet girl has been trying to walk! She has taken some steps all by herself and I couldn't be more proud. She wants to walk so bad. She's amazing. Here is a little video of her the other day. (I'm not sure why the video is crooked.)

Our house smells like fresh air and bleach this evening. Poor babe has had a pretty icky belly bug this week. We have gone through a lot of laundry. I assumed at first that it was all because of teething, which takes a toll on these little ones. But, we are thinking now it must be something else. It breaks my heart when she isn't herself. She is such an easy going little girl, that sometimes it may be hard to tell if she is really hurt or sick. I can tell the past couple of days that she is just tired and feels weak. I know how I feel when I have a sick stomach. I am sure it is confusing to a little peanut. I feel the need to bleach everything and make sure all her things are germ free. Tomorrow may be a day of getting better and cleaner.

The weather here has been incredible the past couple days. Fresh air running through my house perks me up almost as much as coffee. I love January this year. And Texas. This is my kind of winter.

Annabelle got a little haircut this week, and she looks adorable. She was due for at least a trim, but we chopped a little more than that.

aaannnndddd...i had pictures to post, but I have a new computer and can NOT figure anything out on it. so frustrating. I'll get around to it.....

ANNABELLE GRACE is going to be a BIG SISTER!!!

(The little baby at almost 10 weeks)

I have been anxiously waiting for this blog post for a while. I needed to have bases covered of family and close friends before announcing it to the blog world. And, I THINK that they are covered. (Please forgive me if this is not how you wanted to find out.)

I found this little pregnancy blog questionaire recently and wanted to use it occasionally, too. It asks questions that can begin a good story. :)
SO, here's the most recent scoop...

How far along? 10 Weeks (today)
Total weight gain: This may not be something that I will answer all the time, but for now: About 2 or 3 lbs. (Maybe more. I blame Christmas break)
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but will be sooner than last time, I can already tell. My jeans are already feeling a little uncomfortable. I have heard that second pregnancy can pop out a lot sooner than the first, and that is what seems to be happening.
Sleep: sleeping well, but already having the "midnight pee".
Best moment this week: First ultrasound listening to the baby's heartbeat at our doctor's appointment this week. The baby was wiggling and putting on a show, and it was so adorable.
Miss Anything? Tonight I missed a cold tap beer. We went out for burgers, and Craig's frosty beer looked way better than my iced tea.
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings: Seems like I have been wanting fast food/junk food more than ever! My appetite shot through the roof there for a while. One night last week, all I wanted was Sonic motzererlla sticks with ranch and a Chick Fil A Cookies and Cream milkshake. I managed to get both, but on different days so that I didn't feel so guilty. I gotta get that under control. ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Seems like the first weeks were the worst so far. Just like with Annabelle's pregnancy, I can NOT stand scents. Like candles or perfume. I have asked craig a few times to lay off the cologne. And all of my lovely Scentsy is in the garage for now. Bummer. ALSO, weirdest thing...COFFEE. I love coffee usually, but I couldnt handle the smell in the morning. I guess that is a good thing, so I can cut back on caffine a bit. BUT, I have been feeling much better lately, so that's good.
Gender: Too soon to tell. (MARCH 6 is our ultrasound day. I look forward to MUCH more this time than just finding out the gender. With all we learned last time, I have some different perspectives and maybe some different fears, and PRAYERS.
Labor Signs: NOPE. Good thing.
Symptoms: Besides the random nauseau, I get random headaches. Sore boobies. Hightened smell. bleh.
Belly Button in or out? IN
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Most of the time content. BUT, I have noticed my emotions are a little crazy. I cry a lot more than normal these days. About things I would not normally cry over. Tears well up super easy.
Looking forward to: Really I am looking forward to so many things, and I have a long way to go, and much to enjoy. When we were at the hospital the other day (same place as my doctor's office), I was telling Craig how excited I am to be in that room again, waiting and expecting the arrival of a new baby. BUT, that's a long way off. SO, the most recent thing I am looking forward to is selfish, my BIRTHDAY. In February. Ha.

OH, due date is AUGUST 8. :)

2011 Highlights

Last night's post didn't seem like a good New Year's post to me. Every January 1st, I love looking back over the highlights of the year. So, month by month highlights are due.

January- Went to my first MOPS meeting. MOPS has been such an encouragement in my life. I met amazing people and Craig and I finally found a place we felt comfortable enough to call "our church". Also in January, Lisa found her wedding dress. And, i also remember the weather being super gorgeous. Annabelle went to a cardiologist appointment, and I think it was the first time she got an EKG. She did great.

February- One of my most favorite months!! My birthday and Valentine's Day, both made special by my husband. We also got SNOW in Texas, which was exciting for the day that it lasted. :) Super Bowl Sunday was spent at our house with a little party/shower for Lisa and Jordan.

March- Craig's birthday month! March is also Spring Break. (I celebrate every school holiday because my mom and my sister work for the school district. When they are on holiday, I am too!) During spring break, we went to Fredericksburg, one of my most favorite places, and celebrated St. Patty's and had a bit of a bachelorette celebration for Lisa!

April- Busiest month of 2011. Annabelle's month, and Lisa's wedding. SO many memories! We celebrated Annabelle at the park, and it was an awesome first birthday party! I loved it. The next week was spent with parties, reahearsal and WEDDING. One of the best weddings I have ever been to. But, it was for my best friend, so of course it was amazing. My mother in law was here for the busiest week ever, and made my life so much easier. She was such a blessing, and I am so glad she was here!

May- My 2nd Mother's Day. It felt like another birthday, and it was fantastic. We also celebrated our 5 year Anniversary. I don't even remember what we did, but I love our anniversary because it makes me think of our wedding. Of course. I loved our little wedding. One of my favorite days of all time.

June- SUMMER! Lisa was officially off of school, which means we got to hang out more! We went to a Beth Moore Bible Study every Monday at my church, and the study was really great. Lisa and I also went to the REAL ALE Anniversary party for the 2nd year, and this time, we brought our men! It was SUCH a fun day! We also went swimming a lot!

July- 2nd Annual party at our house for the 4th! Annabelle had an ECI evaluation, where her scores looked great! The same week, she had a cardiologist appointment which brought GOOD NEWS of a wonderful heart. We also took a trip, Annabelle's first plane ride, to MINNESOTA! One of the best weeks of the year.

August- My big sister FINALLY moved home!! It's been amazing living close to her again. We also went to Fredericksburg again for the annual Grape Stomp, which ended up being a super fun day with the sisters, and Russo! :)

September- Everyone was back in school, and summer officially over. I started babysitting for some sweet little tiwns, and Annabelle had a blast with them We looked forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays with the kids. Annabelle also had her first eye doctor appointment, which also brought good news of healthy little eyes!

October- Finally got my top wisdom teeth out. Not really a highlight, but it's done! My mother in law came to town to speak at MOPS and to attend Buddy Walk for the 2nd year. That was the best week of the month, and again, such a blessing to have her here! If you read my Buddy Walk post, you know that it was amazing this year. I am still so thankful to the people who came to support my most incredible little girl!

November- The best part of November was Thanksgiving. We spent the day in Dallas with LOTS of family. It's always really great to see this part of family that we don't get to spend a whole lot of time with. I love my cousins!
(and, sadly, I don't have any pictures. Gotta ask around I guess.)

December- This past month really flew by. Like the rest of the year did. We spent Christmas at our own home, which was the first time for Craig and I. We are usually traveling, which is fun, but it was nice to stay in one spot this year. We spent Christmas morning at our house with my parents and sisters. The past 2 weeks have been Christmas break for me and Annabelle, playing almost every day. Now, again, everyone is back to school, and it's back to normal.
(AND, I also have not uploaded any Christmas pictures yet. So, when I do, I will stick one on here.)

We are looking forward to this next year, and what it has for us and our little family. I am anxious to see Annabelle continue to grow and learn, and am ready to see her take some steps! She brings SO much joy to our lives. What are you most looking forward to in 2012?
